Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) activity is to help address the issue of limited understanding of financial management, which necessitates financial management assistance to strengthen the economic capacity of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Penang Island. The method used in this PKM is a mentoring approach, involving direct consultations with 17 Indonesian migrant workers who are members of the Indonesian Community Growth (PERMAI). The results of this PKM show that 87% of the participants now understand good financial management practices, while 13% stated that they still do not fully understand financial management. The implication of this PKM is the expectation that this initiative can be sustained in the future so that all Indonesian migrant workers can improve their knowledge and understanding of the importance of financial management. In particular, there remains a need to address topics that have not yet been covered, such as how to choose loans and investments as part of economic empowerment for Indonesian migrant workers in Penang Island.
