Abstrak

High-alert medications are drugs with a high risk of causing serious harm when errors occur in their management. Errors in handling these medications can lead to adverse drug reactions, medication errors, and even death. Regulation of the Minister of Health of Indonesia Number 72 of 2016 requires high-alert medications to be managed according to the SOP to improve patient safety, yet implementation is still often overlooked. Previous studies have reported varying compliance rates, ranging from 49.99% to 83.48%, indicating that continuous evaluation remains necessary. This study aimed to describe the storage profile of high-alert medications at the Pharmacy Installation of Hermina Kemayoran Hospital during March 2026. This was a prospective descriptive study using an observation checklist based on seven statements from the hospital SOP for High-Alert Medication Storage. The sample consisted of 46 types of high-alert medications observed daily for 31 days in March 2026, resulting in 1,426 observation units. The results showed that the storage compliance rate reached 98.59%, categorized as very good, while non-compliance was found in 1.41% of observations, mainly related to labeling and arrangement. This result is better than several previous studies. In conclusion, high-alert medication storage at Hermina Kemayoran Hospital has been implemented very well, although regular monitoring and evaluation are still needed.
