Abstrak

Peningkatan gas rumah kaca (GRK) telah mengubah iklim dan lingkungan. Pengungkapan emisi karbon memainkan peran penting dalam mendorong transisi menuju ekonomi rendah karbon. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menyoroti pentingnya pengungkapan emisi karbon di Indonesia sebagai salah satu upaya dalam mengurangi jejak karbon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif melalui literatur review. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah informasi dari penelitian terdahulu, penerapan best practices kebijakan carbon disclosure di berbagai negara, dan studi literatur lainnya. Data kemudian dikumpulkan dan dianalisis melalui thematic analysis dan dilakukan triangulasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pengungkapan emisi karbon dapat mendorong perubahan perilaku dan meningkatkan kesadaran kesadaran publik tentang perubahan iklim dan emisi karbon. Pengungkapan emisi karbon juga berdampak positif terhadap pengurangan jejak karbon, serta berdampak positif pada reputasi perusahaan. Berbeda dengan beberapa negara yang telah menerapkan mandatory carbon disclosure, Indonesia saat ini belum mewajibkan pengungkapan emisi karbon dan pengungkapan masih besifat voluntary. Sifat pengungkapan emisi karbon yang masih sukarela tersebut juga menyebabkan tingkat pengungkapan karbon masih rendah karena menandakan bahwa tingkat kesadaran mengenai isu emisi karbon di antara entitas bisnis perusahaan masih terbatas. Pemerintah melalui Otoritas Jasa Keuangan diharapkan dapat menyusun penguatan regulasi mengenai pengungkapan emisi karbon yang bersifat wajib untuk dapat meningkatkan tingkat pengungkapan emisi karbon di Indonesia.
